PHOTOJOURNALIST
Ivan Valencia was born in Sán Andres Isla, Colombia in 1991. He started as an amateur photographer in local and national media, while he graduated as a photography technologist in 2015. In 2016, he began to frequently collaborate with the Associated Press, Bloomberg, among other international media. as a photojournalist, focusing on important stories for populations, armed conflict and post-conflict, migration, human rights and illegal wildlife trafficking in different countries. In 2022 he earns his professional degree in photography and, in 2024, he won the Pulitzer Prize for Feauture Photography as part of the AP team for his coverage of migration from Colombia to the United States. He has also been recognized by Sony World Photography Awards, POYi among others.
